This limited edition picture disc edition of the latest album from the newly crowned kings of Swedish Metal comes in a special die cut sleeve, released first for RSD Drops. The Blind Boys of Alabama are among the most premier artists of the gospel world. Bela Fleck is among the most premier artists of the bluegrass world. Together, they have earned 20 Grammy Awards and scores of other accolades. For RSD Drops 2021, The Blind Boys of Alabama and Bela Fleck have joined together for a special 7" 45RPM vinyl release.

On the A-side, they cover "I Wish I Knew How It Would Feel to Be Free", the Billy Taylor and Dick Dallas classic made famous by Nina Simone. The song continues to be an anthem for the Civil Rights Movement. On the B-side, the Blind Boys bring "See By Faith" to a physical format for the first time. A bonus track to their acclaimed LP, Almost Home, "See By Faith" is a previously unreleased Bob Dylan-penned track.

At The Village Gate is a live album by jazz guitarist Larry Coryell, the “Godfather of Fusion”, recorded on January 21 and 22, 1971 at the Village Gate in New York City. It was released by Vanguard Records. Sadly, far too few people knew of this album at the time as its distribution was limited, but it’s a record that was recorded so well it could easily be considered a live studio release, and one that never fails to open eyes or expand horizons. It’s interesting to note that Larry’s wife Julie sings for the first time on this outing and that’s his son featured on the album jacket.

This year we celebrate the 25th anniversary of Hooverphonics’ debut album A New Stereophonc Sound. Music On Vinyl in cooperation with Sony Music and Alex Callier are releasing four Hooverphonic remix EPs. Each represents a Hooverphonic album: A New Stereophonic Sound Spectacular, Blue Wonder Power Milk, The Magnificent Tree and Presents Jackie Cane.

Alex Callier selected the best remixes of their songs for each remix EP. The first, A New Stereophonic Sound Spectacular remixes is available as part of RSD Drops. Only 2000 individually numbered copies on solid purple are pressed. (The other three are scheduled to be released later in 2021.

Hooverphonic are a Belgian band that formed in October 1995. Though originally categorized as a trip hop group, they quickly expanded their sound to the point where they could no longer be described as a lone genre, but rather encompass alternative, electronica, electropop, rock, and a mixture of others. The band originally called themselves Hoover, but later changed their name to Hooverphonic after discovering other groups were already using the Hoover name and to avoid any legal issues with the vacuum cleaner company.

Since their formation, Hooverphonic's lineup consisted of bassist Alex Callier, guitarist Raymond Geerts, and various lead singers. Geike Arnaert (1997–2008, 2020-present) has recently re-joined the band.

Hooverphonic were supposed to represent Belgium at the Eurovision Song Contest 2020. However, the event was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. They will instead represent Belgium in the Eurovision Song Contest 2021.

The band achieved international recognition through the inclusion of the Stereophonic track "2Wicky" on the soundtrack to Bernardo Bertolucci's 1996 film Stealing Beauty. "2Wicky" also appeared on the soundtracks of I Know What You Did Last Summer and Heights. The track's main riff is sampled from Isaac Hayes' recording of the 1960s hit "Walk On By".

“Inhaler” is, not least thanks to those wonderfully fanning out guitars, still a missed world hit.

Remix duties are fulfilled by drum ‘n bass producer Dj Pulse, owner of the Creative Wax label, and the late Hector Zazou. Both gave some LTJ Bukem-esque vibes to “Inhaler” and “2 Wicky”.

Furthermore, Alex Callier and the band re-recorded both songs and added some extra strings to “Inhaler”.

Bobo Jenkins’ first recordings came out on the Chess, Fortune and Boxer labels in the 1950s. This 12 song LP compiles his 1970s output of incredibly raw and stripped-down blues. The tracks were recorded using a revolving door of Detroit musicians during late night/all night sessions in Bobo’s makeshift Detroit recording studio/record shop and were originally released on his own Big Star Records. It would come as no surprise to find out that bands like The Cramps and The Gories had copies of these singles in their collections.

Contains previously unissued live recordings of unsung tenor saxophone hero Harold Land from The Penthouse in Seattle from 1962, 1964 and 1965 with stellar musicians including Hampton Hawes, Carmell Jones, Buddy Montgomery and Philly Joe Jones. Released in partnership with the Harold Land Estate, the deluxe limited edition, hand-numbered, 180g double LP set is mastered by Kevin Gray of Cohearent Audio. The remastered audio was captured from direct transfers of the original Penthouse's tape reels. Westward Bound! includes an extensive booklet with rare photos; essays by jazz historian Michael Cuscuna, co-producers Zev Feldman and Cory Weeds, and pianist Eric Reed; plus interviews with tenor saxophone giant Joe Lovano and the legendary saxophonist Sonny Rollins.

Land developed his hard bop playing with the Max Roach/Clifford Brown band into a personal, modern style; often rivalling Clifford Brown's instrumental ability with his own inventive and whimsical solos. Born in Houston and grew up in San Diego he started playing at the age of 16. He made his first recording as the leader of the Harold Land All-Stars for Savoy Records in 1949. In 1954 he joined the Clifford Brown/Max Roach Quintet, with whom he was at the forefront of the hard-bop/bebop movement. He moved to Los Angeles in 1955 and played with Curtis Counce, led his own groups, and co-led groups with Bobby Hutcherson, Blue Mitchell, and Red Mitchell. From the '70s onwards his style showed the influence of John Coltrane. In the early '80s through to the early '90s he worked regularly with the Timeless All Stars; a group sponsored by Timeless jazz records. The group consisted of Land on tenor, Cedar Walton on piano, Buster Williams on bass, Billy Higgins on drums, Curtis Fuller on trombone and Bobby Hutcherson on vibes.

Over his career he was a sideman on albums from Roy Ayers, Bill Evans, Ella Fitzgerald, Freddie Hubbard, Thelonious Monk, Wes Montgomery, Donald Byrd, Dinah Washington and countless others.

Lupe Fiasco's Food & Liquor Series is a limited edition four LP set featuring Fiasco’s debut studio album Food & Liquor and follow up Food and Liquor II together on vinyl for the first time, exclusively for RSD Drops 2021.
Food & Liquor – which celebrates its 15th anniversary this year – features production from Kanye West, The Neptunes (Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo), Mike Shinoda & Jay-Z amongst others. It was nominated for four Grammy Awards, and includes Grammy Award winning track “Daydreaming” (Feat. Jill Scott).
Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album Pt. 1 – which will be pressed on vinyl for the first time ever exclusively for this package – features production from The Audibles and 1500 or Nothin' amongst others. It went on to chart at number 5 in the US Billboard 200 and was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Rap Album.
The albums are pressed on 140g vinyl, in an assortment of colors and housed in a slipcase. Strictly Limited and numbered to 7000 copies worldwide.

The project was born out of Lupe pulling a beat off of Twitter, posted by Kaelin Ellis with the caption, "get this to Lupe". Lupe recorded a rap over the beat and posted the new recording back on Twitter within an hour of Kaelin posting the instrumental. The two conversed over social media and agreed to work on more music, which led to the HOUSE EP being turned around within 3-4 weeks while quarantined during the Covid pandemic. The project features narration from longtime friend of Lupe and international fashion designer and entrepreneur, Virgil Abloh (Louis Vuitton, Off White). The title of the EP is HOUSE because they recorded the entire project while in the house (due to Covid). Artwork for the EP is an original painting of Philip Johnson's iconic Glass House, and liner notes were written by the painter's son who is a good friend of Lupe’s. Previously available on cassette.
