All the star power Hollywood could muster couldn't save this witty, arch Mike Nichols/Aaron Sorkin collaboration from disappearing last winter. But Tom Hanks, Julia Roberts, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Amy Adams do their best to recall the fascinating story of the titular renegade Texas congressman. Wilson indulged in a decadent social life, but on the job fought to support Afghani mujahideen fighters against Soviet invasion. The consequences, as hindsight has proven today, were astronomical.
