Remember "P.I.M.P." with 50 Cent or "Drop It Like It's Hot" with Pharrell or almost every low-rider jam on 213's The Hard Way, or that mash-up Snoop did with your kid sister when you were at work? Sure you do. Remember that whole 1996 Los Angeles homicide trial that spawned "Murder Was the Case"? We're shaky on that too. Calvin Broadus has been in the public eye for over a decade now and needed every day to graduate from menace II society to cuddly, overexposed gangsta grandaddy. But in between coaching youth football and izzling the English language into submission, he released some all-time superjams. The beanpole hit hardest with Doggystyle ("Gin and Juice," "Who Am I? (What's My Name?)"), slumped into a long dull streak, then exploded again on 2004's R&G: Rhythm and Gangsta (The Masterpiece). No word on whether we'll be treated to raunchy bonus skits about what really goes on behind the scenes at those T-Mobile commizzles.
