It's obvious why this Seth Rogen co-written comedy tanked at the box office: Drillbit was Owen Wilson's first film after his (alleged) suicide attempt, and, you know, geez, he played sorta-suicidal guys in the last couple flicks (The Darjeeling Limited, Wedding Crashers). Luckily, there are no unsettling art-imitating-life undercurrents here: Wilson merely plays a bum hired by kids to bodyguard them from bullies. Puerile, but memorable laughs ensue.
