More Info:

Less than two years ago, Chris Brown was the 16-year-old boy next door with a world of talent and big dreams, fueled by the artists he grew up listening to, from Stevie Wonder to Michael Jackson. Now, with the release of Exclusive, his sophomore effort, Brown is ready to take his place alongside those heroes.

Reviews:

''Exclusive'' is the second studio album by American R&B singer Chris Brown. The album was originally scheduled to be released August 28, 2007, but was pushed back to October 30, 2007, then pushed back even further to its final release date of November 6, 2007.

The album was both critically and commercially successful, reaching number 4 on the U.S. ''Billboard'' 200 chart on its debut. It sold 295,000 units within a week of release. The album yielded three ''Billboard'' Hot 100 top five singles, and was successful in music markets, entering the top twenty of many charts worldwide. ''Exclusive'' was re-released on June 3, 2008 as an expanded double-disc deluxe edition; a DVD counterpart was also released, featuring behind the scenes footage and music videos from his tour. The album has earned platinum certification in the United States from the Recording Industry Association of America; worldwide sales stand at 3 million copies sold. The album ranked number thirty-four on ''Rolling Stones list of the Top 50 Albums of 2007. - Wikipedia

It can be a thankless job, this pop superstar thing. Michael Jackson was supposed to stage a triumphant comeback gig at the World Music Awards in London last November, but the King of Pop got a case of cold feet and curtailed his set drastically. Who was there to step in but teenage phenom Brown, handling MJ's "Thriller" with dexterity and grace. It was a precursor to his show-stopping (and some would argue "'"saving") medley at September's infamous MTV VMAs. Hopping from table to table in Charlie Chaplin garb and mashing his own material with "Umbrella" and "Billie Jean," it seemed obvious that a star was born. Now Brown's second full-length aims to seal the deal. Expect an album that splits the difference between after-hours pillow talk and up-tempo club bangers. Justin Timberlake and T-Pain cameo, because what fun would spending all that royalty cash on vacations be?

50 Cent, take note. Some artists have their content leaked early and refrain from tearing plasma screens off of walls in protest. Brown's "Wall to Wall" hit the airwaves in late spring; it's now, as you can tell, late October, and the hit has spawned delirious interest in his new album, "Umbrella"-style. Black Eyed Peas mainman will.i.am helps out on the songwriting front, but other than some production mix-and-match, the record is mostly Brown's, a quantum leap forward for the barely legal crooner.
